My Approach

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor with a private practice near Maidenhead, Berkshire in a quiet and peaceful garden setting with separate access and private driveway. Integrative means that I blend several therapeutic modalities to suit you the individual.

I see individuals over 18 years old in person or online.

Together our work is to build a relationship of trust where what’s troubling you can be explored and understood through honestly acknowledging your feelings, noticing triggers, observing your processes and looking at how you take what is discovered into your daily life. Offering my own thoughts, feelings and observations to help make connections between present difficulties and past experiences for you to make sense of your life and begin to shed whatever is standing in your way.

The initial session is to see if working together “feels” right. This gives us a chance to get to know each other and to talk about your reasons for you wanting therapy at this time. It will also give you the opportunity to ensure that you feel a connection and feel comfortable with me. I believe we all know when we first meet someone if they are a “good fit” for us and I’d encourage you to contact a few counsellors for an initial session.

If we feel we are a "good fit" we then arrange further sessions which occur at the same time and day each week.

I work with an open-ended process so there are no fixed number of sessions that we work to. As the work evolves we will have regular reviews to check in with the work. Monitoring both the progress that is being made as well as any blocks or resistances we may encounter along the way.
